JUNIOR HIGH SUMMER CAMP REPORT
Stacy Morford

I had the honor of attending Junior High Camp last week as a girl’s counselor. The experience was overwhelming and inspiring and I cannot wait to do it again next summer. I loved meeting the girls for the first time and getting to know about them. What I saw was an extremely diverse group of girls who were able to reach out to one another and share the love of Jesus through friendship. Hearing their stories, my heart broke for several and I was reminded of the pressures of being a junior high student. Fortunately, we serve a God who knows where each student is and loves her unconditionally. I was inspired by my co-leader, a high school junior, who co-led several of our small group sessions and spoke truth into our girl’s lives.

The campsite was beautiful and a constant reminder of our Creator. We had a blast participating in daily group games and enjoying our free time in the pool. I can’t remember when I giggled so much! The worship team was amazing and the group teaching times were spot on, easy to understand, and captivating. We spent time daily in break out groups where the students were able to dig a little deeper and ask questions about how we study the Bible. This basic skill was presented in a very simple way and the students in my cabin seemed excited to start applying it at home. The week went by quickly and I would encourage anyone with a heart for students to consider volunteering in the future. You will learn so much!
