On Friday, March 24, 200 women packed the new Family Life Center for our women’s ministries Ladies Paint Night. We are so blessed to have such a fabulous facility for events like this. As I circled the room greeting women as they arrived at their tables, I was excited to discover that many HCC attendees had invited their neighbors, co-workers, relatives and friends who do not attend Highlands. It was a multi-generational group for sure, from high school age to great grandmothers, all enjoying each other’s company.

Karisa Keasey-Marsland did a fabulous job of instructing us on how to paint a beautiful scene from God’s creation. Johannah Dalgardno was passionate and transparent as she shared with us how God can transform our thinking from fear and anxiety to hope and peace as we put our trust in Him alone. She highlighted God’s truth in Romans 12:2, which states that we need not conform any longer to the pattern of this world but God can transform us by the renewing of our minds. She also instructed us from God’s Word in 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 that with God on our side, He fights our battles for us with weapons that have the power to demolish our strongholds and anything that sets itself up against the knowledge of God. Because of God’s power in us we can take every thought captive to make it obedient to Christ! Isn’t that awesome news?!

It is God’s desire for us to be in connection with one another and to be actively pursuing a deeper, more intimate relationship with our Savior. Therefore, if you are not already involved at HCC, I would love to have you consider joining one of our: Women’s Bible StudiesSmall Groups or Support Groups

If you are new to the faith, or have questions about Highlands Community Church or what it means to be a Christian, I would encourage you to not only attend one of our weekend services at the Renton or Kent campus, but to sign up for the Starting Point class  or Discover Highlands class.

You can check out all of the programs and classes that we offer on our website. There are many different ways to get involved and find connection here at Highlands.
