"A group of 11 women from our neighborhood got together for breakfast Saturday. We each brought $50 or $100 bill.
We all signed a card for our waitress then left her the money.
She cried and we hugged her and wished her a merry Christmas and told her she was loved. (We got the idea from FB, it’s not an original but was very fun to do)!"

"As we were dining, we noticed our waitress looked distressed and kept putting her hand to the side of her chest. It was almost closing and she was working hard to get everything cleaned up, asking if it would be alright to vacuum by our table for just a minute. We encouraged her to go right ahead and not worry about us. She apologized profusely and explained that she was having chest pain and heart palpitations and was trying to get out of there as quickly as possible after closing so that she could head to the Emergency Room. We asked if we could pray with her and she eagerly accepted our offer. We did everything we could to pack our food, pay our bill, and head out so she wouldn't have to stay any longer, and then we actually offered to take her to the hospital ourselves. She told us we didn't need to, but we said we wanted to because we cared and were concerned about her. When she came out, we offered for one of us to drive her in her car (she quickly handed over the keys) while the other followed in our car. She expressed over and over again how much she appreciated our prayer, our kindness, and our presence on one of the most stressful nights of her life. We hope our Highlands family will join us in praying for God to continue to minister to Tara in Federal Way."
"We got presents for kids with nothing (it made me happy)."
"I invited neighbors from six houses over for dinner and none of them had ever been to our home before. I was able to have a conversation with a couple of them about my faith. I am planning on inviting the neighbors who are not already attending church, to Christmas Eve services at Highlands."
"I had on the bracelet this past week at work and my boss saw it and asked about it. God provided an opportunity for me to share about Highlands and about how we are sharing Gods love this Christmas. As I was checking out, the gentleman ahead of me went to pay for his groceries with a credit card, only to be told that Winco only accepts cash, checks, and debit cards. The checker indicated a cash machine near the entrance. When he tried to make a withdrawal, however, the ATM wasn't working. When the checker asked if he wanted to go get cash and come back, he said he wanted to do that, and finished bagging his groceries so he could leave them in a cart at Customer Service until he returned to pay for them. By that point, I was paying for my own groceries and felt like I should also pay for his. I told the checker what I wanted to do and she said, "But his order is $122!" (Mine had been under $50, but I had been paying attention to her screen and knew what I was offering.) I said, "I know, and I want to pay for it, thanks." Once my payment went through, I handed the receipt to the gentlemen who had trouble understanding what was happening. The checker kept telling him, "She just paid for your groceries!" When he began to understand what I had done, he wasn't sure how to respond, so I told him, "Just pass the favor along some day when you have an opportunity." The thing that surprised me most was how deeply the lady behind me in line was affected."
