At Highlands one of our core values is to develop and champion the next generation of ministry leaders. Our current sermon series in the book of 2nd Timothy is entitled Multiply: Building Godly Next Generation Leaders. As we go through the series, we'll be introducing just a few of the Next Gen leaders who are making a difference for Jesus in various roles, locally here at HCC and in ministries across the world!
Ministry that you serve and lead in:
Youth With a Mission Denver
What are some things you get to do as part of serving in your ministry?
I am currently serving as our communications director. I manage our website and student admissions systems, as well as community engagement and marketing efforts. I also serve with two of our schools (missions training programs). The School of Ministry Development and School of Worship. These programs help train students in areas of ministry.
What do you enjoy about serving and leading?
What makes it meaningful to you?
Every day is exciting; there is no such thing as a normal day. My ministry is meaningful because I am equipping young people to create and continue effective ministries in the nations. Although I am not currently leading international outreaches, my work in the communications department simplifies the way we share what God is doing around the world and increases the number of young people interested in missions.
How has Highlands helped support you or build into you as a ministry leader over the years?
Highlands invested in me by giving me space to grow. While in school, I was given opportunities to lead small groups, lead worship, and speak on Sunday mornings. Through small group leader training times and chances to fail Highlands helped me build a foundation of skills I regularly use in my ministry. I am grateful for the partnership of Highlands!
How can we follow what you are doing in ministry? (i.e. blog, or email list)

Share a verse or Scripture passage that is significant to you:
A verse that has guided me often is Matthew 5:14-16. This verse always reminds of how uniquely we are each created to bring glory to God, but it also humbles me by reminding me to reflect those gifts back to Him.
Bonus question: What do you enjoy doing outside of ministry? (i.e. If you had an hour of free time...how might you use it?)
I spend a lot of my time learning new skills in the area of communications and studying cultures. I love having friends over, making meals to share, and exploring Colorado!
