At Highlands one of our core values is to develop and champion the next generation of ministry leaders. Our current sermon series in the book of 2nd Timothy is entitled Multiply: Building Godly Next Generation Leaders. As we go through the series, we'll be introducing just a few of the Next Gen leaders who are making a difference for Jesus in various roles, locally here at HCC and in ministries across the world!

Ministry area that you serve in and lead at Highlands:
Worship and Next Generation Support

What are some things you get to do as part of your role on staff?
As part of my role on staff, I not only get to play on worship teams but I also help plan worship sets, program, install and adjust lights, record tracks, run tech at events, upload messages, help train and develop tech teams, and provide audio and visual support where needed. As support staff, I am here to take on whatever tasks are needed.

What do you enjoy about serving on our staff team & leading in ministry?
What makes it meaningful to you?

Music and technology have always been areas that I love to work with and being able to serve others by leading worship and helping grow and challenge students is an incredible feeling. I'm thankful for the amazing staff team that is continually challenging me and helping me grow not only in my work but also in who I am as a person. This work is meaningful to me because I get to do things that I love while seeing the difference it makes in the lives of others.

How has Highlands helped build into you as a ministry leader?
From the start, Highlands has provided me with more opportunities than I could have ever asked for. I've been to many camps and retreats both as a student and as a leader. These camps have pushed me out of my comfort zone in many ways especially in leading worship and leading small groups. I have also had the opportunity to learn from many talented musicians and creative designers. Throughout all of these experiences I have been spiritually challenged and have grown as a leader.

Name one or two ways that you desire to see the church make an impact on our community & beyond:
I believe Highlands does a great job developing the next generation to go and share God's grace. My desire is to see people continue to share in our community the hope and healing Jesus has brought into our world.

Share a verse or Scripture passage that is significant to you:
Romans 12:2 "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is-His good, pleasing and perfect will."

Bonus question: What do you enjoy doing outside of ministry? (i.e. If you had an hour of free time...how might you use it?)
Outside of ministry I love spending time with friends and family, traveling, writing and recording music and exploring the Pacific Northwest.
