Pastor Jim Amandus

“Silence in the face of evil is itself evil. God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.” —Dietrich Bonhoeffer

We are into our fall series entitled WHO IS GOD—Meeting the Author of Our Story. This month holds our World Outreach Weekend and a powerful study in Deuteronomy 10:17-22. Both of our speakers have personal stories of political oppression and evil. Justice. Divine justice. The same justice God has shown us we are to show others. Our theology and our worship are always on display by how we treat others.

Dietrich Bohhoeffer said, “They came for the Jews and no one said anything. They came for the Catholics, and no one said anything. Then they came for us, and there was no one left to say anything.” Pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer was executed by Hitler just months before Nazi Germany surrendered to the Allied forces in WW2.

While the American church slumbers in apathy the Spirit of God is raising up the next generation of passionate Christ followers. Our study in Deuteronomy is a movement. It’s a movement into theology, and from theology to doxology. Then, from doxology to missiology. It’s a movement in us by God. Jesus is on the move, Highlands. One person at a time—the gospel of Jesus Christ is providing hope and healing to hurting people.

It’s our turn. We must speak. We must act.

This is a weekend you won’t want to miss…you can’t miss.
