SPARKS DRIVE-IN MOVIE NIGHT 2017
Jerry Mays

Over 50 Awana Sparks and friends enjoyed a movie and popcorn from the comfort of their “cars” on a chilly Friday night in January at the annual Sparks Drive-in Movie Night at HCC. As always the kids showed up with a huge variety of cars and vehicles created from cardboard boxes. After fueling up at the Spark gas pump, the kids cruised into the theater to park their rigs. They got comfortable with lots of pillows and stuffed animals and settled in to watch a Veggie Tales classic called Beauty and the Beet.

Each year, this is a great opportunity for the Sparkies to invite their friends to church for a fun event and to hear the good news about Jesus. During intermission, Wendy Sweeney did a wonderful job explaining the gospel to the kids using different colored cars.

Whoever knew that cardboard could be so much fun.
