STUDENTS PROCLAIM JESUS AT SUMMER CAMPS!
Four hundred students, leaders, and staff members participated in our yearly Middle and High School summer camps at Lost Creek Village in Naches, Washington. Over the course of the entire two weeks, students had a blast participating in a variety of different activities such as spikeball, gaga ball, basketball, archery tag, paintball, and other organized games. Even greater, students had the opportunity to find and follow Jesus through worship gatherings, solo times, and small groups.
Over 170 students and leaders were at Middle School camp. Students were split up into four different “tribes” that competed against one another in different games and tournaments throughout the week. On the final day, the red tribe was crowned champion. Our Middle School camp theme was, “Ripe or Rotten.” We took time each morning and night looking at the fruits of the Spirit in Galatians 5 and whether our hearts were “ripe” with the fruit of Christ or “rotten” with the works of the world. By the end of the week, we saw 10 students claim Jesus Christ as Lord of their lives for the very first time, and many more take their next steps in following Him.
The second week, High School camp featured over 230 students and leaders. Students teamed up according to their grades and participated in rotating “stations” that generated points for their teams. At the end of the week, the Seniors came out on top with the most points earned. During the morning and evening gathering times, students listened to Pastor Jesse Campbell as he went through our camp theme, “Who Do You Think You Are?” Pastor Jesse preached through the books of First, Second and Third John as he looked at how we can identify ourselves in the love of Jesus rather than the world. We saw nine students claim Jesus Christ as Lord of their lives for the very first time, and nearly 20 publicly display their faith and obedience through baptism.
Thank you to all the adult volunteers who made these camps possible, and for everyone’s prayers and support. Please continue to pray as we head into the fall with Middle School small groups and High School D-Groups.
