As many of you know, Nate and Courtney are no strangers to HCC- Nate previously served on our staff team as High School Pastor. Since that time a lot has happened for the Edmondsons! Nate earned his Master’s of Divinity from Western Seminary, served as a college and teaching Pastor in Lexington (KY), successfully replanted a church in St. Louis, and last but certainly not least- Nate and Courtney welcomed their first daughter Esther Rose into the world in May! We could not be more excited for Nate and Courtney to be part of our Highlands family and for you to meet them and get to know them if you haven’t yet. Here’s a note that Nate shared with us:
Courtney and I are incredibly grateful to be rejoining the team at Highlands. Courtney grew up in Bothell and has many close family and friends in the Seattle area. We are excited for our daughter, Esther, (and Lord willing some other future little ones) to be close to grandparents and experience life in the Pacific Northwest.
When I served as high school pastor at Highlands I quickly realized how special of a church it is. Highlands has such a rich history of ministry to the next generation, global missions, faithful Bible teaching, and generous living. The people at Highlands treated me so much like family that in many ways returning to Highlands feels like returning to my home church. I’m excited to be part of Pastor Jesse’s vision for creatively reaching unchurched people and boldly, winsomely preaching through the Bible — and I’m excited to continue the great work God is already doing at Highlands Kent. Courtney and I look forward to catching up with old friends and making many new ones. - Nate Edmondson
I have enjoyed being the transitional pastor of Highlands Kent as we worshipped together anticipating the new pastor who will bring vision and life to us. I love my brothers and sisters at Kent and will be with them throughout the process of Nate and his family settling in. This is exciting and an answer to all of our prayers! - Jim Munson
What if Kentridge High School doesn’t open by Nate’s start date?
Highlands is committed to helping people find and follow Jesus. We are in regular communication with the school about our ability to be back on site and the staff continues to explore all options available.
What will Jim Munson do?
Jim is committed to Highlands and the success of helping the transition go smoothly. We are thankful that Jim has agreed to stay on staff for the next while.
What can we do to help welcome Nate & Courtney?
Right now, pray for them as they wrap up where they are and travel across the country. They will be looking for a place to live and stepping into new relationships with all of us. Pray for God’s goodness in their life and for effective gospel ministry in our midst that we would see more and more people come to find and follow Jesus in partnership with this family!
