Would you join us in welcoming Steve & Lisa Newman to our church family? We’re thrilled to announce that Pastor Steve has joined our staff team as Worship & Creative Arts Team Pastor! We have been prayerfully searching for a gifted leader to fill this new role and are so thankful to the Lord for answering our prayers! As part of our Senior Leadership Team, Steve will provide strategic leadership, planning, training and vision for Worship Ministries across both campuses. We can’t wait for you to get to know them in the days ahead!
About Steve and Lisa
Steve was raised in Honolulu, Hawaii and earned a Bachelor of Music degree with emphasis in Church Music from Oklahoma Baptist University. He also has a Master’s of Worship Ministry and Doctorate of Worship Ministry. Steve has extensive experience in both traditional and contemporary worship styles and has been serving in music and worship capacities since 1982. Steve is the author of a study entitled Experiencing Worship, A Study of Biblical Worship, and Founder & Editor of ExperiencingWorship.com. Steve is a gifted leader of leaders.
Steve and his wife Lisa have three children (Stephanie, Jordan and Danae) and two granddaughters (Rylie and Reese). They have lived in several states over the past 28 years, serving in the capacity of music and worship. Steve was born and raised on the Island of Oahu. His calling in life is to lead and teach people true Biblical worship and what it means to be a worshiper. He is passionate about developing worship leaders, especially next generation leaders. He has spent the last thirteen years of his ministry on staff as the Worship Pastor at McKinney Church in Texas.
The Newman’s enjoy traveling and seeing new places as well as trips to the beach. Hunting, fishing, diving, surfing, bodysurfing and eating are few of Steve’s hobbies. He also speaks a little Japanese. We are excited for you to get to know them!

We have been amazed at how God has led us and your leadership team to this point in time. In short, we are honored to accept this position.
