HIGHLANDS KIDS

Helping kids and families find and follow Jesus.

Sunday morning classes and family events are all created to connect kids to God’s word, help them apply biblical truths to everyday life, and provide a fun and faith-filled community for them to build Christ-centered friendships. We believe that the Bible teaches that families are the most influential people in their child’s life. Our family ministry will help parents find time, moments, and milestones to talk about their faith with their child. We’re here to walk beside parents, provide tools to support them as they disciple their child, and pray for their family.

Sunday Classes

Nursery
(Infant–2 years)

9:00 and 10:45am

What to Expect: We strive not only to keep your child safe and comfortable, but we view our nursery ministry as an important and vital launching pad for nurturing the faith of the next generation.

Preschool
(2 years–Kindergarten)

9:00 and 10:45am

What to Expect: We desire that young children will grow more aware of God’s love, care, and presence in their everyday lives. Our classes are highly structured with play time, music and teaching time as well as hands on activities that allow children to actively explore and experience biblical truths in fun and creative ways.

Elementary
(1st–5th Grade)

9:00 and 10:45am

What to Expect: We desire to provide an environment for elementary aged kids to learn more about their faith while building strong relationships with their peers. We do this by offering both large group and age specific classroom opportunities for them to learn and grow with their friends.

Special Needs Ministry

We believe that all children are created by God and designed to bring Him glory (Psalm 139:13-16). We especially believe that children with disabilities are called by God to be included in the life of the church and contribute their unique gifts to the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12-31). We strive to include all families and care for those with special needs so that everyone can participate in church together.

Special Needs is available during the 10:45 am service. Kids are encouraged to participate with peers in classroom settings when appropriate. For those that need additional support, we provide a buddy (a trained adult or teen volunteer) to be with kids and we have a “Quiet Room” for sensory breaks in our Kids ministry area. We also have an elevator that is accessible from all 3 floors of our building with ADA bathrooms on each floor.

We look forward to partnering with you to care best for you child during their time at Highlands. To help us get to know you and your child, we encourage you to fill out the form below and contact our special needs coordinator with any questions.
